Growly / Reactive Dog Class (with trainer approval)
This course is designed as the "Graduation" from private training for reactivity. We don't bring aggressive dogs into the group to practice aggression, rather, we continue to modify the reactive behavior that you and your private trainer started, by slowly working on your dog's attitude toward dogs and/or people. Class location: Tarzana Park in Tarzana, CA. (Trainer approval required)

Prerequisite: Intermediate Obedience AND recommendation from approved trainer.
This course is designed as the "Graduation" from private training for reactivity. We don't bring aggressive dogs into the group to practice aggression, rather, we continue to modify the reactive behavior that you and your private trainer started, by slowly working on your dog's attitude toward dogs and/or people. Dogs who are just starting to accept others need a place to create positive memories! If we have a bunch of dogs "snarking" at a each other in group we cannot create the environment we want!
SO, WORK WITH YOUR PRIVATE TRAINER UNTIL YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR DOG AROUND DOGS AND PEOPLE, then use this amazing class to finish things off in the presence of a number of other dogs that have similar issues! This is not a quick fix, rather a successful transition into a world where other dogs coexist in all shapes and sizes! Some dogs do this course multiple times to get success, some do it multiple times to maintain success.
This class is open to any dog whose owner has already been privately instructed how to get their dog to focus around other dogs. Dogs must know sit, down and stay in both positions, heel position and heel walking, loose leash walking, come, wait, leave-it, touch (hand) with high value reward, go to your mat/place, and the owner knows how to use a marker (word/click) to mark the correct behavior. We will work on reading your dogs behavior and knowing when to take a break. We are using your vehicle for “downtime” so bring a crate if your dog needs to be able to relax in the car between exposures. If you dog needs a human with him in the car bring an assistant to help sit with him so you can watch and listen.
Groups are usually held weekly, same day/time/location for the duration of the course. Classes are listed below by START DATE. Usually off major holidays and holiday weekends.

Note: There are no refunds, credits, transfers or prorates for group class sessions, unless otherwise prearranged, once a series has begun. We require 48 hours notice, before class begins, to transfer to another class or refund a class fee.
